Wandering Around for No Reason!

Luca was wandering aimlessly around the capital, looking at stuff for sale and people watching and stuff. Then, he noticed a cool looking stall! He went up to the counter and looked at some of the food he was offering and bought like five empanadas. Eating them with one hand and practicing that icicle dagger thing with the other hand, he had his work cut out for him. He yawned as water began to solidify a bit before dropping to the ground. It shattered on the street. He shrugged and kept going. He wondered what else he could do here...

Shura, after many grueling hours at work, had finally managed to scrape up enough free time from the bottom of her paperwork to go out and relax. It was a stressful job to have, the one she worked, and she treasured moments like these. She sighed, looking around at all the people who were just living their lives day by day. She adjusted her uniform and let out a ghost of a smile. They had no idea of the pending war. She wondered how she'd announce it...

Suddenly, a man wandered by eating a handfull of empanadas. Wait... He looked familiar... Was that the new recruit? She approached him from the side and called out.

"Good evening, soldier." she began. Shura tilted her head. "I see that the food in the mess hall doesn'y quite satiate your hunger," the officer noted with amusement

"Good evening, soldier. I see that the food in the mess hall doesn't quite satiate your hunger." He turned around because he was surprised. It was a commanding officer! He saluted but then took another bite of his empanada when he was done. He nodded next.

"No, it doesn't ma'am because they don't give you alot, I practice lots so I need more food. I pay for it myself though so I hope that's okay." he said. He took another bite before offering her an empanada. If she accepted, he'd give it to her but if she declined then he would shrug and eat it himself. "Also, I'm trying to learn Icicle daggers but I canmt get the icicles to stay frozen." He waved his hand and watched as a puddle froze into a dagger before melting really fast. He tried again but this time the dagger looked more like a dagger but it melted faster.

Hmm. What a conundrum. Watching him eat an empanada and offer her one, she shook her head. She wasn't hungry. "It's extremely hot out," she began, "so you have to consistently keep the icicles at the same temperature. Try to slow down your energy, too. That will reduce the heat." Shura said. She took in a deep breath and let it out. "I, too, have been having trouble with some techniques." She scratched the back of her neck once, and then continued. "It's just the changing of the season. Our energies are always fluctuating around those times."

She extended her fingers and watched as a singular blade of razor winds extended. The Slicing Gale ability, it was called, but after a few moments she dismissed it. It was more difficult to perform in windy environments, and she wanted to conserve her energy for when she really needed it.

Luca thought on what she said and concentrated. He focused on his soul, the very fiber of his being and tried to make it cold. Soon, bits and pieces began to clump together like bits of snow in the cold. He held out his hand. And slowly little daggers of icicles began to form on it, but this time they stayed cold. He played with them a bit and watched as she made a similar construct with the very wind. It was very interesting to watch. Maybe he should learn how to do that, and master the wind element...

He yawned and quickly hid it with his hand because he didn't want to look rude or informal. "Thank you. I did it!" He said and he was proud of himself. He was able to get down a difficult technique all thanks to her help.
